Giselle - solidaritetsturné

Kjære publikum.
Kyiv Grand Ballet har sett seg nødt til å endre innholdet i ballettforestillingen søndag 24/04.
Forestillingen vil derfor ikke lenger være Svanesjøen, men Giselle.
 
Her er en uttalelse fra arrangøren:
"Like the entire civilized world, including all creative teams and cultural figures, the artists of the Kyiv Grand Ballet are stunned by the crimes against humanity and war crimes of the aggressor state, which were exposed in the liberated areas of the Kyiv region.
After such terrible revelations, Kyiv Grand Ballet mourns with all of Ukraine for those who died during the hostilities. We have decided to temporarily stop the performance of the Swan Lake ballet and other works by Russian composers until the war is completely stopped. We recognize Tchaikovsky's contribution to the world history of art, but we consider it right to express our position and suspend the performance of his works. It is very difficult for all our dancers to perform to Russian music, while our compatriots are dying from Russian bullets. Therefore, the Solidarity Tour will feature the ballet Giselle by the French composer Adolphe Adam, a beautiful story of a lost love that turns out to be stronger than death."

Forestillingen holdes som en del av Solidarity Tour for å støtte Grand Kiev Ballet med deltagelse av ledende artister fra den ukrainske balletten.
Inntektene av forestillingen går til danserene i Grand Kyiv Ballett og Flyktninghjelpen i forbindelse med krigen i Ukraina.
