NOM 26 – Nordic Ombuds Meeting 2026 – samler alle de statlige likestillingsorganene i Norden.

På møtet stiller ledelsen og utvalgte fagpersoner fra hvert organ for å diskutere likestillingssituasjonen i Norden samt øvrige relevante likestillingsproblemstillinger. 

Møtet vil bli åpnet av ordfører Marit Warncke, som vil ønske deltagerne velkommen til mangfoldsbyen Bergen. I løpet av møtedagene skal hvert land gi en presentasjon av sine likestillingsorganers mandat, eventuelle utfordringer med å oppfylle mandatet, de viktigste likestillingssakene i sitt land samt status på landets implementering av EU/EØS-bestemt mekling i diskrimineringssaker.

Ellers skal møtet behandle tema som kjønnsbasert vold, hvilke sanksjoner det enkelte lands organer kan ilegge ved brudd på diskrimineringsregelverket, aldersdiskriminering, diskriminering av transpersoner samt hvordan de statlige organene i Norden kan bidra til en god likestillingsutvikling. 

Åtte nordiske land og selvstyrte områder vil bli representert på møtet; Danmark, Færøyene, Finland, Grønland, Island, Norge, Sverige og Åland.

Vertskap for møtet er Diskrimineringsnemnda og Likestillings- og diskrimineringsombudet i Norge.

NOM 26 – Nordic Ombuds Meeting 2026 – brings together all the national equality bodies in the Nordic region.

At the meeting, the leaders and key specialists from each body will be present to discuss the equality situation in the Nordic region as well as other relevant equality issues. 

The meeting will be opened by Mayor Marit Warncke, who will welcome the participants to the diverse city of Bergen. Over the course of the meeting, each country will give a presentation on the mandate of its equality bodies, any challenges in fulfilling the mandate, the most important equality cases in its country and the status of the country's implementation of EU/EEA-mandated mediation in discrimination cases.

The meeting will also address topics such as gender-based violence, what sanctions the country's equality bodies can impose for violations of discrimination regulations, age discrimination, discrimination against transgender people and how the state bodies in the Nordic region can contribute to fostering progress on equality. 

Eight Nordic countries and autonomous territories will be represented at the meeting; Denmark, Faroe Islands, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Åland.

The meeting is hosted by the Norwegian anti-Discrimination Tribunal and the Norwegian Equality and Anti-Discrimination Ombud.
